If anybody had of said to me 10 years ago that I would be a part owner of a successful Web development business I would have looked them up and down and told them that they were mad.
Right into my early 20s my passion was anything to do with sport, whether it be competitively or for recreation... computers couldn't be further from my mind. This all changed in 1995 whilst completing my final semester of a Bachelor of Teaching degree at Southern Cross University. During this final semester I suffered a serious spinal injury which as you can imagine it set me on a much different path.
My interest in the Web and Web development escalated in 1997 when I decided it would be a good idea to put together a basic webpage for my local cricket club. It didn't take long for me to realise that if I wanted anybody to see my masterpiece I needed to get things happening and make sure that it could be found on the Altavista search engine (yes there was life before Google).
Little did I know that these early ventures would set me on an insatiable path for knowledge when it comes to building and promoting websites. Even now barely a day goes by that I do not learn something new and am an active participant in a number of search engine marketing-based discussion forums such as SEO Forum, High Rankings and osCommerce Forums.
Since those days I have passionately advocated the importance of integrating search engine optimisation strategies with any type of Web site development and really enjoy speaking with business owners and other Web professionals about anything Web related.
